Vacations in Périgueux

Périgueux, the prefecture, is located in the center of the Dordogne, and combines Gallo-Roman, medieval and Renaissance heritage.
Périgueux is just a 45-minute drive from the 3-star campsite in the Dordogne.

Highlights include the majestic cathedral of Saint-Front, a World Heritage site with its white stone domes and traces of the Périgord Blanc region, and the ancient ruins of the Vesone tower and amphitheater.

The remains of the Gallo-Roman house can be visited at the Vesunna Museum.
The best view of the old town is from the Mataguerre tower and the orientation table at the top.
For picnics or relaxation, Périgueux is also renowned for its many parks and gardens.

The best place to meet local producers and discover regional specialities is at the market every Wednesday and Saturday morning.

For accommodation, don’t hesitate to rent a mobile home at our campsite near Périgueux.
