Château de Neuvic, a place steeped in history
Located in Neuvic sur l’Islethe Château de Neuvic is one of the most coveted sites in the Dordogne region. The history of the building dates back to 1520. This was the date of a land exchange between the Talleyrand Périgord and Annet de Fayolle. However, construction began during the Renaissance era. It was subsequently classified as a historic monument in 1952. You won’t want to miss this castle during your stay at our campsite near Neuvic.

We can divide the visit to the Château de Neuvic into two stages:
The botanical park
The first step begins outside the building, in the Botanical Park. This covers an area of over 6 hectares. It features authentic plant collections. As of 2006, the site will become part of the refuges of the French League for the Protection of Animals (LPO ). An award that reflects its ecological value. The tour then takes you to Diane’s bath, an emblematic grotto dating back to the 18th century.
Neuvic Castle
Discovering the Château de Neuvic is an opportunity to get up close and personal with a place that bears witness to an important period in French history. In fact, this medieval building was perfectly inspired by the aesthetic trends of the time. As a result, you can easily spot the hallmarks of the Renaissance style during your visit to Château de Neuvic. This is architecture that emphasizes symmetry and regularity. What’s more, you’ll have the chance to observe unique murals inside the building. A delight for history buffs! Opening hours
The historic monument is open all year round at the following times:
- September to June: The first weekend of each month on both days (Saturday and Sunday).
- July and August: Tuesday to Saturday at three different times: 10.30 am, 2.30 pm and 4.30 pm.
Each visit lasts 1 h 15 minutes.
Entrance fees

- Children: €4
