And we’re delighted to tell you that many of these festivals in the Dordogne take place close to La Cigaline, our campsite in the Dordogne. In this article, we present the festivals in the region that we strongly recommend you attend.

Expoésie Festival in Périgueux

As its name suggests, Expoésie is a highly cultural event, where poems come to life in books and artists’ notebooks. The artists will be on hand to discuss their work with you, and to display it all over Périgueux for the duration of the Dordogne festival. You’ll find them in media libraries, libraries and museums, as well as in the streets. These are convivial moments to share, but also gourmet ones. This festival in the Dordogne is usually held in March, and you can take part in it for free from our cheap Dordogne campsite.

Ôrizons Festival in Périgueux

The Ôrizons Festival is very diverse. It’s the perfect opportunity to get your fill of culture, in all its different forms. Film buffs, literary buffs, photography enthusiasts and those who enjoy live performances will all be delighted to take part. Festival Dordogne takes place during the month of June, with events taking place throughout Périgueux.

La Vallée Festival

With the main aim of spotlighting local artists, this Dordogne festival is a plunge into a festive and artistic universe. You’ll be able to attend street and/or puppet shows, concerts, plays, a circus… The Festival La Vallée is nomadic, moving from commune to commune between late May and early June. When it comes to Annesse et Beaulieu, Chanterac or Bourrou, it’s just 30 minutes from your mobile home rental in the Dordogne.

Mimos International Mime Festival in Périgueux

If we had to sum up the Mimos Festival in figures, it would be: 40 editions to the dawn of 2023, 5 days of festivities and over 150 shows every year. This Dordogne festival is considered one of the biggest in Europe. It glorifies the art of mime and gesture. The performers magnify the body and its gestures through breathtaking shows of theater, dance, circus, puppetry… It all takes place in July, usually in streets, gardens and public squares. You can also find these events in some of Périgueux’s concert halls. Many tourists wouldn’t miss this festival for the world, and choose our riverside campsite in Montpon-Ménestrol as their starting point.

Jazz Pourpre en Périgord Festival in Bergerac

The Jazz Pourpre festival was launched in 2004. Since then, this very popular Dordogne festival has been held every year to make the musical style it showcases accessible to the general public. A master class for young people has recently been added to the program, which consists mainly of concerts. All this takes place between April and May , in a convivial atmosphere, at Place Gambetta in Bergerac. The festivities take place just 37 minutes from our campsite with swimming pool in the Dordogne.
