Vacations in Dordogne

Our 3-star Dordogne la Cigaline campsite is located in Montpon-Ménestérol in the Isle valley in the Dordogne.

The town of Montpon-Ménestérol is renowned in Aquitaine for its ten organs in perfect working order, and every Thursday in July and August there are free organ tours.

The tourist office offers two walking tours to discover the town: the town center tour and the Rando Land treasure hunt, with three fun routes adapted to children’s ages.

The market takes place every Wednesday morning in the center of Montpon.

lascaux cave

The Lascaux cave in Montignac is one of the Périgord’s most famous prehistoric sites.

The new cave art site opened at the end of 2016, giving the whole family the chance to discover or rediscover the cave discovered in 1940, thanks to age-appropriate audio guides.

After visiting the paintings in the cave, you can take your own time observing the various paintings in the “Lascaux workshop”, where time stands still.

Several other rooms complete the visit, including the 3D cinema and the cave art theater.

In July and August, we strongly advise you to book in advance, as you can eat in Montignac, close to the cave.

foret dordogne

If you love nature and forest walks, La Cigaline riverside campsite in the Dordogne has two beautiful forests close by. You can explore the 100 km of the Double forest on foot or by bike to your heart’s content.

For fun family outings, you’ll love the Vignoble forest at Beaupouyet, with its various themed trails such as Petit Poucet and Bellipodine.

There are also 4 orienteering courses and a forest maze.

La Ferme du Parcot
In the heart of the Double forest in Echourgnac, you can visit the Parcot farm, a listed historic monument, at your own pace. The team also organizes guided tours of the buildings.
The association La double en Périgord regularly organizes events focusing on traditions and the transmission of know-how.

Castles and Bastide
In the vicinity of our campsite with swimming pool in the Dordogne, you can visit several castles, including Neuvic, Bourdeilles, Monbazillac and Bridoire.
Bridoire, nicknamed the “château des jeux” (castle of games), boasts a large collection of antique wooden games that will delight young and old alike.
If you’re passing through Echourgnac, the abbey is well worth a visit, even if it’s not open to the public.
Périgord boasts 18 bastides, including Villefranche-de-Lonchat, Bénévent and Saint-Barthélémy-de-Bellegarde.
